Dreamy and safe!

Painting a child’s room should always be done with certified ecological paints, contributing to the creation of a healthy and creative living space.

There is no parent who does not want the best for their child’s room—and for the entire home. For this reason, it is essential to use high-quality paints, free from odors and harmful substances and with ecological certification. At the same time, they must offer high coverage and excellent resistance to frequent washing and wear over time. This way, even if your child has artistic tendencies and paints on the wall, you can clean it easily without leaving faded marks.

Eco-friendly paints are the only way forward

Their properties are not harmful to the human body, they are odorless and they contain low levels of volatile organic compounds (VOCs). First and foremost, make sure the paints you choose are ecological to ensure superior material quality in your children’s environment. Ecological paints are those that minimally pollute the environment during production, application and use.

How to recognize them

Ecological paints are defined by their minimal environmental impact throughout their life cycle—from raw material extraction and production to application and use.

When their ecological profile is combined with excellent technical performance, without compromising quality, they are awarded the EU Ecolabel by the European Union Ecolabelling Board—the well-known “Flower” label.

Products bearing the “Flower”:

  • Offer high coverage and performance
  • Contain low levels of VOCs
  • Provide satisfactory resistance to wear
  • Do not contain heavy metals or carcinogenic and toxic substances
  • Do not carry hazard symbols on their label
  • Have minimal environmental impact throughout their life cycle
  • Are tested and certified by an independent organization

Solid colors or combinations? Soft or bold?

Colors such as green, orange, yellow and blue are ideal for a child’s room (for both boys and girls), as they are colors of nature. They create warmth and calmness—as long as they are used in moderation and not all together.Avoid dark blue, as it can evoke intense emotions. Avoid red, as it is associated with intensity, while pink promotes relaxation. White is neutral and not associated with specific emotions, so avoid covering large surfaces with white alone—combine it with other colors of your choice. Avoid very strong colors on walls, as they may cause irritation, hyperactivity, or even fear in children. Classic pastel shades provide calmness and a sense of security for younger ages.

For girls’ rooms choose colors with low contrast. Soft tones and calm combinations create a romantic and relaxing environment. Classic pink and its shades combine easily with other pastels such as light violet, lilac, light blue, green and yellow.

For boys’ rooms, these spaces often express more energy, which can be reflected with a pastel light blue combined with a more intense, dynamic color. Bright colors—used in small accents—bring joy and energy while maintaining a sense of warmth. Light blue pairs well with orange, light green, or touches of red and yellow to brighten the space. For teenage boys’ rooms, shades of khaki and brown are recommended, as they are more neutral.

Always try to add a few bold accents for contrast.
